France - At just 28 years old, poultry farmer Florian Piloteau had a clear vision when investing in a new layer farm: to build a modern operation that is efficient, future-proof, and designed to support both animal welfare and farm performance.
Working together with Boissinot Élevage, Florian developed a state-of-the-art layer house with capacity for 60,000 laying hens in Pannecé, western France.
Building a farm for the future
From the very beginning, the project focused on creating an environment where both birds and people can perform at their best. Florian wanted a solution that would streamline daily operations, reduce manual labor, and provide the technology needed to achieve consistent production results.
The farm was equipped with advanced housing and egg-handling technologies designed to maximize efficiency throughout the production process
Automation egg collection
The installation includes five rows of the Bolegg Terrace system which is supporting natural bird behavior. At the packing area, a Prinzen Speedpack packer ensures fast and reliable packing of the eggs. The packed trays are then automatically palletized, significantly reducing manual handling and improving workflow efficiency. Combined with the Meggsius range, they have achieved a high level of automation with a continuous egg flow throughout the entire process. This allows them to work more efficiently, reduce manual handling, and save significant time and labor every day.
A partnership focused on performance
For Boissinot Élevage and Vencomatic Group France, the project demonstrates how innovative technology and practical farming experience can come together to create a successful project. GAEC de la Cantinière is an excellent example of how the next generation of egg producers is investing in innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
Golden Egg Award
At our global partner event 2026 , Boissinot Elevage received the Golden Egg Award for the GAEC de la Cantinière project. The Golden Egg Award is an integral part of Vencomatics Global dealer event, allowing each partner to submit a project they believe deserves the title of Project of the Year.
