Raiar Orgânicos: Scaling organic egg production in Brazil

Producing organic eggs at scale in Brazil is more than a technical challenge — it’s a mission of transformation. And it was with this very spirit that Raiar Orgânicos was founded in 2020 by partners Marcus Menoita, Leandro Almeida, and Luis Barbieri. With extensive experience in the grain market, the trio decided to take a new path, breaking paradigms in a sector still largely dominated by caged production systems.

A project born to shine

The name “Raiar” (meaning “to dawn” in Portuguese) reflects the company's mission well: to bring light to a market where over 90% of eggs are still produced in systems that do not prioritize animal welfare. The vision was clear from the beginning — to prove that eggs are not all the same, and that it’s possible to produce food with more respect for the environment and the animals.

The project began with 20,000 hens and today counts 320,000 birds, distributed across 15 production barns and 4 rearing units, all equipped with Vencomatic solutions.

The challenges of thinking differently

From the start, Raiar faced resistance and skepticism. Three arguments were heard repeatedly:

  • The scarcity of organic corn for poultry feed;
  • The lack of a handling protocol for organic hens — with pasture access and no antibiotics;
  • The supposed absence of a solid consumer market for this type of product.

But with strategic vision and courage, the founders sought inspiration and knowledge abroad, convinced that scaling up was possible — with the right technologies in both grain cultivation and poultry farming.

It was in this context that Vencomatic stood out as a key strategic partner. With deep technical expertise and a customer-focused approach, the company offered systems and guidance specifically designed for cage-free and organic environments — reinforcing the idea that high-performance production with animal welfare is not only possible, but scalable.

A partnership built on shared values

It was at this pivotal moment that Vencomatic South America stepped in — not just as an equipment supplier, but as a true partner. From the first meeting, the relationship was built on personalized service and aligned values.

During a visit to Venco Campus in the Netherlands, the Raiar partners were able to visualize the future they wanted to create in Brazil. There, they discovered the Jump Start system, now used in their rearing phase. More than just a technology, they realized it was the key to raising stronger birds with higher immunity — which directly reflects in the health and productivity of the laying cycle.

Unlike other companies in the sector that often adapt caged systems for cage-free use, Vencomatic has cage-free in its DNA. This fundamental difference led to a project tailored to Raiar’s reality — featuring Grando Nests, Ovologic trays, and the Jump Start system.

Results that inspire

Today, Raiar Orgânicos stands as one of the main references in large-scale organic egg production in Brazil — and the largest national producer dedicated exclusively to 100% organic eggs. The partnership with Vencomatic South America was essential in turning a bold vision into a real, viable, and sustainable project.

More than a growth story, Raiar’s journey is living proof that with technology, courage, and purpose, it’s possible to illuminate paths once thought impossible.
