Meggsius Select

Meggsius Select for hatchery

Meggsius Select combines machine vision inspection, high-capacity sorting and data collection in one system. Each egg is analysed for cracks, contamination, shape, dimensions, volume and/or weight, delivering objective quality assessment up to 45,000 eggs per hour.

Unlocking the value of data in the hatchery

Each and every egg moves through the Meggsius Select while being scanned from multiple angles to record external characteristics. Based on pre-defined indicators, each egg will be automatically directed to the set exit points. Dependency on classification of eggs based on the interpretation of labour is a thing of the past. The automated process also means, only one person is required to operate the entire process, changing the role from egg collector into the process operator.

More than a sorting system, Meggsius Select transforms egg quality data into process insight. By linking intake quality to breeder farms and hatch results, hatcheries gain the information needed to identify losses, improve decision-making and optimise performance throughout the entire value chain.

The result: more consistent chick quality, improved process control, reduced labour dependency and data-driven continuous improvement.

Compare breeder farms objectively Differences in crack levels, contamination, shape and uniformity become visible, helping hatcheries benchmark flock performance, hygiene, transport quality and management practices.

Detect process issues early Patterns in cracks, dirt levels or weight/volume distribution reveal issues in nest hygiene, storage, transport or handling before hatchability is affected.

Link intake quality to hatch results By linking hatch results to the quality of first-grade eggs set, hatcheries gain closed-loop feedback to optimise both breeder farm performance and hatchery outcomes.

Meggsius Connect: one platform for actionable hatchery insight

All data collected by Meggsius Select can be made available through Meggsius Connect. The platform automatically collects data from connected devices and turns it into clear, actionable insights through a user-friendly dashboard. Hatcheries can monitor performance in real time, receive early alerts on deviations and use the data to further optimise operational processes, bird performance and profitability.

Key features

  • Detects first-grade eggs with >98% accuracy and rejects second-grade eggs with >97% accuracy
  • Grades by weight and volume with ±0.5 g and ±0.5 ml accuracy for improved chick uniformity
  • Supports up to 4 sorting options for flexible batch management
  • Reduces manual variability and labour while providing actionable hatchery data
