Egg intake automation

Protecting egg quality during intake

Upon arrival from the breeder farms, hatching eggs are the result of a carefully controlled process focused on top quality. Every step within the automated intake process is critical, as these valuable eggs must be handled with the utmost care.

Benefits for both employees and farmers

Automated solutions significantly reduce the risk of human errors, leading to more consistent output, improved reliability, and greater operational efficiency.

Efficiency & reliability

Hatching eggs are the most valuable assets in hatchery operations. Each hatchery aims to achieve not only the best hatchability rates but also to deliver chick quality and uniformity. Automated processes need to be fast and accurate, but foremost, they must respect the delicacy of the eggs and handle them gently and safely.

Our automated systems carefully place all eggs from 30-er trays and setter trays, select the best eggs, and place them point-down, ready for incubation.

With an accuracy of 99.7% this automatic point-down setting contributes up to 2.7% improved egg position leading to higher hatching rates. Imagine what this improvement can mean for a hatchery setting 1 million eggs per week: 7% x 0.2 x 52 million eggs = 280,800 day-old chicks extra!

Candling

External characteristics of an egg

No reliable hatchability rates if the egg inspection isn't done perfectly. Placed horizontally on egg rollers, the hatching eggs can be thoroughly inspected for any misshapes, cracks or defects. A 360-degree view of each egg makes it easier to identify and remove poor-quality eggs.

Stackers

Uniformity is the key

Receiving hatching eggs with an automated process will bring consistency.  Every single time, each stack is lifted, releasing one tray at a time in the correct orientation for seamless processing. Empty trays, whether plastic or paper 3-cell trays, are automatically removed. An additional sensor detects any eggs remaining in trays to avoid disruptions and ensure a continuous process.
